The Festival season kicks off this weekend in Longmont, Colorado, northwest of Denver. The Annual Tartan Days Festival, to celebrate Scottish heritage and the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath, will be held for the first time since 2019.
It’s a small festival, with only about 20 clans in attendance, but it is the FIRST of several to be held this year. We will be at the Cheyenne, Wyoming festival at least one day in June, and then the Elizabeth Celtic Festival in July.
August is the Annual General Meeting of Clan Murray, and this year, finally, it’s in Denver. We were supposed to host the AGM in 2020, but it was postponed and put on last-minute in Charleston, South Carolina. It was postponed again in 2021 and ran in Atlanta, Georgia instead. Both were good festivals, but neither was OURS! This is our year! Excitement is building among Clan members in Colorado, and the early festivals give us a chance to generate even more interest.
